## About the role

This role will be a hands-on Applications Mechanical Engineer/Designer who can take a customer use case concept and turn it into a physical reality captured in CAD with a detailed BOM and documentation. This person will help deploy the design in our test cells and possibly in a customer facility if needed. This is a “do” role. The person will design cell layouts, integrate an off-the-shelf scanner, and help the team troubleshoot fixtures as needed. The range matters more than depth in any single specialty.

## What they're looking for

- Design customer workcell layouts — robot placement, material flow, operator access, safety zones, and integration with existing customer infrastructure
- Design and detail custom fixtures, carts, jigs, staging equipment, and material handling interfaces specific to each customer deployment
- Produce production-quality CAD models, detailed drawings, and BOMs suitable for fabrication, procurement, and field assembly
- Assist with customer site surveys to capture physical constraints: floor conditions, ceiling heights, dock configurations, utility access, material flow paths, and existing equipment interfaces
- Support cell setup and commissioning on-site — hands-on troubleshooting of mechanical fit, fixture alignment, and hardware integration issues
- Adopt and adapt end-of-arm tooling and gripper interfaces for customer-specific manipulation requirements — totes, cases, cartons, and structured items
