We are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to own day-to-day accounting operations for a US-headquartered fintech with a Canadian entity. Reporting directly to the COO, this role owns accounts receivable and accounts payable, the monthly close across multiple entities, the US multi-state sales tax function, and the annual financial statement audit. ## What they're looking for

- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full ownership of a month-end close (must have)
- Hands-on US multi-state sales tax experience: nexus determination, state registrations, filings, exemption certificate management, and voluntary disclosure agreements (must have)
- Working knowledge of Avalara or a comparable sales tax engine, including its integration with a billing system (must have)
- US GAAP revenue recognition under ASC 606 applied to multi-element SaaS contracts, specifically implementation fee deferral and principal-versus-agent analysis for passthrough revenue (must have)
- Experience in a multi-entity environment with cross-border operations and foreign currency translation
- Experience owning or substantially supporting an external financial statement audit
