## About the role

Every new machine type we bring into the fleet raises the same question from scratch: which sensors, where do they go and what are they used for? The Systems / Sensors team answers it with analysis rather than guesswork, trading off coverage, cost, durability, and what will actually survive on a jobsite. As our Sensor Systems intern, you'll own sensor selection and placement analysis for a new machine platform, from first trade study to validation on real steel.

## What they're looking for

- Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in an engineering or engineering-adjacent discipline such as mechanical, electrical, physics, mechatronics, robotics, or computer science (or bringing equivalent hands-on experience)
- Solid grasp of 3D geometry, coordinate frames, and transforms
- Python for analysis and tooling
- CAD fluency - enough to reason about where hardware physically goes
- Willingness to go to mock construction sites and test sensor configurations
