## About the role

Own the accounting seat in the deal desk, including reviewing MSAs, order forms, SOWs, and amendments before execution for revenue recognition implications. Identify and escalate ASC 606 issues in active deals: multi-element arrangements, performance obligation identification, standalone selling price (SSP) allocation, variable consideration, contract modifications, non-standard cancellation and refund provisions, SLA credits, and principal vs. agent questions.

## What they're looking for

- Hands-on deal desk experience: you've reviewed contracts in flight, advised Sales during negotiations, and can articulate accounting positions clearly to non-accountants under time pressure
- Builder mindset: you've designed processes in prior roles, including deal review playbooks, intake workflows, and approval matrices, and you're comfortable doing it again where the answer isn't given and best practice has to be introduced, not inherited
- Working understanding of SaaS business metrics (ARR, NRR, bookings, renewals) and how deal structure and contract terms affect them
- Fluent in usage-based and hybrid billing models, SSP allocation, principal vs. agent analysis, variable consideration, contract modifications, and multi-element arrangement accounting
- Operationally minded senior contributor: understand where the gaps live between Sales and Accounting, and know how to close them independently, without direct reports
- Commercial instincts: you understand how B2B SaaS enterprise deals are structured and where revenue recognition complexity hides
