## About the role

As a Backend Engineer working on LiveOps at BRINC, you will build and manage the real-time backend infrastructure that keeps our public safety drones connected, streaming, and fully operational in high-stakes environments. You will own the live operational stack, focusing on low-latency telemetry, video distribution, remote control links, and system uptime when seconds matter most.

## What they're looking for

- Degree in computer science or a related field and 5+ years of experience shipping high-quality code and building robust infrastructure
- Experience building backend platforms, from the infrastructure up to the API layer (bonus if you’ve built real-time data platforms, scalable microservice architectures, and are experienced in dealing with security and encryption requirements)
- Experience with modern cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, etc) and are comfortable switching between software engineering and Cloud DevOps
- Familiarity with serverless architecture, and understand the tradeoffs between performance and cost when running servers at scale
- Demonstrated experience with cloud architectures focused on scale, performance and security
- Experience with real-time systems or embedded software development
