## About the role

You'll be joining our Carta Law team, specifically within the Contracts - Americas function. Our Contracts team manages the full lifecycle of commercial contracts for clients – from first review through to execution. You'll be the direct day-to-day contact for sophisticated investment fund and asset manager clients, working alongside fellow lawyers and paralegals. This team delivers high volumes of pre-M&A contract work at speed, supported by AI-backed tools including Carta's proprietary platform, Ava.

## What they're looking for

- Commercially minded and client-focused. You communicate legal advice crisply and concisely, building strong relationships with sophisticated financial services clients
- Experienced in transactional law. You have 4+ years of post law school corporate or transactional experience, with a track record of independently negotiating pre-M&A contracts (NDAs, NRLs, joinders, engagement letters)
- Familiar with financial services. You have experience working with asset managers, investment banks, or other financial services firms and understand their expectations
- Law Degree and licensed to practice. You are licensed to practice law in the Americas (US/Canada)
- Tech-savvy and adaptable. You are comfortable working with and evolving a legal technology suite (e.g. AI tools, HighQ), and an interest in legal tech or AI is a strong plus
- A self-starter who owns their work. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize effectively, and are always looking for ways to improve and innovate
