## About the role

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer with deep Rust experience to help design, build, and operate the systems at the core of Chronicle's platform. You will work across application architecture, data infrastructure, developer experience, and production operations. The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between designing a reliable service, debugging a concurrency issue, improving a deployment process, and evaluating a new storage architecture.

## What they're looking for

- Five or more years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent depth of experience building production systems
- Strong expertise in Rust, including ownership, lifetimes, traits, generics, error handling, and performance analysis
- Production experience with asynchronous Rust, concurrency, cancellation, resource management, and backpressure
- Experience designing and operating backend services, HTTP APIs, streaming systems, webhooks, or background processing systems
- Strong understanding of relational databases, including schema design, migrations, transactions, query performance, and connection management
- Experience building modular systems with well-defined interfaces, reusable components, and comprehensive tests
