## About the role

This role is a Staff-level individual contributor position within the Security Engineering team, focused on Coalition Control, a security platform that helps protect our policyholders from cyber crime. You’ll own critical backend services end-to-end, have broad autonomy to shape technical direction and will serve as a technical multiplier for the broader engineering team. You’ll have access to leading AI tools so you can just cook.

## What they're looking for

- Proven experience as a backend engineer designing and building distributed systems and cloud-based services in production
- Demonstrated technical leadership, including influencing architecture, setting technical standards, enabling other engineers, and collaborating effectively across teams
- Strong proficiency with AI workflows, Python/FastAPI , TypeScript/Node.js , or a similar modern backend language and framework. Experience with React.js is a plus
- Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining APIs, as well as integrating with third-party APIs or platforms
- Solid understanding of security concepts and practices, with experience in a cybersecurity domain is a plus, but not strictly required
- Strong communication skills and a practical, outcome-oriented approach to problem solving
