## About the role

As a Senior Data Scientist on the Ads Marketplace team, you will uncover insights that shape the strategy behind Etsy Ads, one of our most important seller-facing products. You will help us understand how to maximize the value of sellers’ advertising budgets while balancing outcomes across our marketplace. In this role, you will partner closely with product managers, engineers, and applied scientists, connecting the dots between customer problems and the technical details of our models and systems.

## What they're looking for

- 4+ years experience as a data scientist or data analyst in which you have independently extracted meaning from big data sets with little engineering support
- 1+ year of experience as an data scientist or data analyst developing, evaluating, or analyzing the performance of machine learning models
- Successful track record of guiding product teams to identify high-impact opportunities, set meaningful goals against key outcomes, and data-driven decisions. Experience working in a two sided market places environment
- Experience with crafting and analyzing online experiments with a good understanding of A/B testing
- Ability to conduct sophisticated analyses and regularly use advanced statistical methods (ex. Propensity Score Matching, Causal Impact, Regression Models) in your work
- Comfortable with distilling complex insights into compelling narratives for senior executives, both verbally and visually
