## About the role

FamilyWell is seeking an experienced Controller to own the company’s accounting operations and lead full-cycle accounting and tax functions as we scale nationally. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will be responsible for the integrity of FamilyWell’s financial records, timely and accurate monthly close, tax compliance, and the internal controls that support a growing, venture-backed healthcare organization. ## What they're looking for

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting and tax, with at least 2–3 years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP, multi-state tax compliance, and internal controls
- Demonstrated experience managing the monthly close process and producing accurate, timely financial statements
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information for non-finance stakeholders
- Comfortable operating with significant autonomy in a remote, fast-paced start-up environment
