## About the role

As a Software Engineer, Platform & Infrastructure at Forus, you will own the compute and data foundations the entire company runs on. You will own our EKS platform, data layer, cloud reliability, and infrastructure economics. You will make architecture decisions that compound for years: how services run and communicate, how data stores scale, what product teams can self-serve, and where we simplify or migrate before complexity becomes a constraint.

## What they're looking for

- Experience operating production Kubernetes at meaningful scale, including networking, autoscaling, and cluster reliability
- Deep AWS expertise (EKS, VPC, IAM boundaries) and strong infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, you build platforms and reusable primitives rather than one-off resources
- Run a real, low-downtime database migration and operated a relational store like Postgres under production load, with the ability to reason from a query plan to a capacity plan
- Strong instincts for reducing complexity - you are drawn to consolidating and simplifying systems rather than adding surface area
- Comfort operating in a regulated, high-stakes environment, familiarity with PHI, HIPAA, and/or SOC 2 is a strong plus, as is a track record of mastering a new domain quickly
- A track record of moving quickly, finding shortcuts, and going to unreasonable lengths to deliver on goals
