## About the role

We’re seeking a Staff+ Software Engineer to own the backend architecture and scaling of our clinician-facing provider platform. This is a high-ownership IC role where you will define technical direction for core backend systems, not just implement features. You’ll act as a technical leader across multiple engineers and teams, setting patterns for APIs, data modeling, and system design that others build on.

## What they're looking for

- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong backend focus
- Experience operating at a Staff+ level, influencing technical direction and architecture across teams without formal authority
- Proven ability to design and scale backend systems, APIs, and data platforms that serve multiple products or business units
- Strong system design experience, including distributed systems, data modeling, and tradeoffs around reliability, scalability, and performance
- Experience building and owning production-grade backend services end-to-end, from database design through APIs and integrations
- Strong proficiency in Python, Node.js, or similar backend technologies, with solid experience in relational and/or NoSQL databases and API design
