## About the role

General Matter is looking for an experienced Head of IT with strong knowledge and experience across IT technologies. The Head of IT will oversee the company's IT systems, implement best practices, and drive technology initiatives that align with our business goals. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our infrastructure scales as we grow while maintaining security, efficiency, and reliability.

## What they're looking for

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering discipline with 3+ years of systems administration experience, OR 5+ years of professional systems administration experience in lieu of a degree
- Experience with servers in physical and virtualized environments
- 5+ years of experience with Active Directory, Kerberos, Entra ID, and multi-platform authentication/identification environments
- 5+ years of experience (including the ability to setup, configure, upgrade, manage, and troubleshoot) with Windows-based systems and services in both physical and virtual environments
- 5+ years of experience in monitoring mission-critical enterprise environments
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary
