## About the role

Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close. We use an outsourced accounting firm for bookkeeping today; you'll direct that relationship in the near term while working to bring close, bookkeeping, and AP execution in-house over time. Prepare and ensure GAAP-compliant financial statements; analyze balance sheet and P&L movements and investigate variances before they reach leadership.

## What they're looking for

- Have prior experience as a Controller, or as a strong Assistant Controller / Accounting Manager ready to run the function independently, ideally at a high-growth Series A SaaS company
- Have built or materially matured an accounting function before — you know what "0 to 1" actually requires: process, controls, and documentation that don't yet exist
- Are deep in U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606 revenue recognition for subscription and services revenue, and can reason through a nonstandard revenue scenario instead of just applying a template
- Are AI-forward: you use AI tools daily to move faster on close, reconciliations, and reporting, and you have a point of view on where automation belongs in an accounting workflow versus where it doesn't
- Are comfortable owning the close independently — you can run it yourself without a controller above you catching your mistakes
- Think like a business partner, not just an accountant: you can read a customer contract, a compensation change, or an operational decision and see the accounting and cash implications before anyone asks
