## About the role

Mercury is growing rapidly. As our product expands, we’re evolving the frontend foundations that support it. We have strong scaffolding in place today, but the expansion, renovation, and exploration that come next will require us to strengthen and refine it. We’re looking for an engineer to help build the battens and transoms that lift frontend work at Mercury. To put it differently, our job is to make our engineers as excited about the frontend as our customers are about our product.

## What they're looking for

- Has 6-8+ years of software development experience, with a strong focus on the frontend and deep experience with React and Typescript
- Has experience leading complex engineering projects, such as projects that cut across multiple teams and functions, have multi-stage rollouts, or require research and consensus-building before action
- Is a confident communicator, adept at communicating across organization boundaries, and driving discussions to productive ends
- Has maintained internal libraries or platform tooling that other engineers depend on
- Prioritizes being helpful, taking initiative to make other developers' lives easier
- Has a thorough understanding of modern frontend developer tooling and workflows, including build systems, CI/CD, web hosting, and testing
