## About the role

OpenGov is on a mission to power a more effective and accountable government — and the software our engineering teams ship every day makes that real for thousands of public agencies across the country. As a Software Engineering Intern, you'll contribute to production features used by real customers, working side by side with full-time engineers across the full stack. This is a hands-on internship where you'll write code that ships, not code that sits in a sandbox.

## What they're looking for

- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent program
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (TypeScript, JavaScript, React, or Node)
- Experience building with AI-driven UX, agents, and workflow automation (direct ML experience not required)
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly about technical problems
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail — you spot edge cases and ask good questions
- Curiosity and a self-starter mindset, eager to learn from feedback and iterate quickly
