## About the role

Praia is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to take on a high-impact role with significant autonomy. In this role, you will establish deep, end-to-end architectural ownership of our platform, primarily driving high-performance Java backend services (80–90% of the focus) while supporting client-side integrations and platform needs in JavaScript (10–20%). ## What they're looking for

- Experience: 6+ years of experience building and operating production software, with demonstrated senior-level scope and clear ownership of distributed, high-throughput systems
- Backend Expertise: Expert-level software development skills in Java and the modern Java ecosystem (Quarkus or Spring Boot, concurrency, microservices)
- Client-Side Capabilities: Strong working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and modern client-side architectures, comfortable owning light frontend integrations and UI-facing platform touchpoints
- Data Engineering (Plus): Prior exposure to or hands-on experience with Databricks , Apache Spark , or distributed data processing is a plus, but not required
- Cloud & Infrastructure: Experience delivering cloud-native services (AWS, Azure, or GCP), container orchestration (Kubernetes/Docker), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Security Focus: Deep understanding of OAuth2, OIDC, mTLS, JWT, secrets management, and secure SDLC practices
