## About the role

We're hiring a Director of Engineering to lead the Engineering organization. This role reports directly to the CTO and is the single engineering leader across two teams currently totaling 8 engineers, with a plan towards ~12. This is not a manager-of-managers role today, you’ll be directly managing the team. The ideal candidate is someone excited to directly lead a team of high performing Senior+ Engineers.

## What they're looking for

- Demonstrated progression from a technical role to a leadership role, with demonstrated experience managing multiple teams of Engineers in a fully remote environment
- You've operated as the senior-most engineering leader in a group, or close to it, comfortable being the only manager, without a layer beneath you
- Significant technical experience in at least one area of our stack, able to speak credibly in architecture and scoping conversations
- Proven partner to Product on scope, estimation, and delivery commitments
- Experience managing remote teams, excellent written communication
- Thrives on accountability, bias to action, strong desire to empower individuals and win as a team
