## About the role

*This role is open to remote or hybrid candidates (East Coast preference), with hybrid being central to our New York, NY or Charlotte area offices. Must be able to work Eastern Standard Time hours.

- Experience leading and managing a small engineering team, or a technical lead / player-coach ready to formalize into people management
- Still technically hands-on and credible — able to review, contribute to, and make sound decisions within a modern TypeScript codebase
- Strong people-leadership skills: coaching, feedback, performance management, and developing engineers across levels
- Solid delivery management: decomposing work, sequencing, managing dependencies and risk, and communicating status honestly
- Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, comfortable managing up, across, and outward
- Comfortable with ambiguity and a lean operating model, biases toward leverage and automation over headcount
