## About the role

We're looking for a Senior/Staff Data Scientist to join our growing Data team and serve as a strategic analytics partner across Render. As we scale, we're tackling increasingly complex questions across our product, customers, and business, from how developers discover and adopt Render, to what drives engagement and retention, to how we prioritize investments and identify new opportunities for growth.

## What they're looking for

- 7+ years of analytics experience, with a track record of shaping strategy and influencing decisions across complex or ambiguous problem spaces
- Strong business and product judgment. You can take an ambiguous question, identify what really needs to be understood, and determine the right analytical approach to inform a decision
- Experience defining and using metrics across some combination of Product, Growth, Go-to-Market, Finance, or other business domains, for example acquisition, activation, adoption, engagement, retention, conversion, expansion, or revenue
- Strong SQL skills. Writing complex, efficient SQL and independently exploring large datasets is a core part of how you work
- Experience using experimentation, statistical analysis, or other rigorous evaluation methods to understand impact, along with judgment about when each approach is appropriate
- Experience with modern analytics tooling such as Metabase, Mixpanel, dbt, BigQuery, Segment, and Git
