## About the role

SoFi is hiring an experienced Home Equity Underwriter to support a growing lending portfolio. This is a true full-file underwriting role with end-to-end ownership of credit, income, assets, collateral, conditions, and final underwriting decisions. The underwriter will partner closely with processors to move loans efficiently from review through clear-to-close while maintaining strong quality, compliance, and risk discipline.

## What they're looking for

- Minimum 2 years of recent conventional mortgage underwriting experience with direct decision-making authority
- Demonstrated full-file underwriting ownership across credit, income, assets, collateral, conditions, and final decisions
- Direct appraisal and title review experience
- Strong experience analyzing self-employed income and complex borrower scenarios
- Ability to independently evaluate and clear underwriting conditions
- Strong understanding of credit policy, underwriting guidelines, collateral evaluation, and risk assessment
