## About the role

Step is seeking an Accounting Manager , to play an impactful role on the finance team. This is the first dedicated accounting hire who will report directly to the Step Controller. You will own the month end close while driving key accounting initiatives, projects and process improvements shaping the future of the accounting function. This is a high-visibility and high-ownership role. You are self-sufficient, decisive, and ready to operate within a world class finance team in a fast-scaling fintech.

## What they're looking for

- 5–7 years of accounting experience, with a mix of public and private preferred
- CPA designation (or CPA candidate) with proven understanding of U.S. GAAP
- You've owned a full-cycle close independently
- Tech proficiency across NetSuite (required) and ideally QBO, Ramp, and Airbase
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- You’re an incredible teammate with a positive attitude and mindset
