## About the role

We are seeking a licensed Fire Life Safety Engineer to own the design and stamping of fire protection and life safety systems for our Loop tunnel projects in Las Vegas and Nashville. This role will focus on developing code-compliant fire and life safety designs for complex underground transit environments, stamping engineering drawings, and ensuring systems meet NFPA, local AHJ, and project-specific requirements as we scale.

## What they're looking for

- Lead the engineering design of fire detection, alarm, suppression, standpipe, and emergency communication systems for tunnel and station environments
- Stamp and seal fire protection and life safety drawings as a licensed Professional Engineer
- Ensure all designs comply with NFPA 502 (and related codes), local AHJ requirements, and The Boring Company’s project standards
- Coordinate with internal engineering, construction, and operations teams to integrate fire/life safety systems into overall tunnel design and construction packages
- Interface with AHJs, fire marshals, and third-party reviewers during design review, permitting, and acceptance processes
- Develop and maintain company design standards, specifications, and calculation methodologies for fire/life safety systems in tunnel applications
