## About the role

Rips is one of the fastest growing apps in the collectibles space, and it lives on mobile today. You're going to bring it to the web. This is a greenfield build on top of backend systems that already work at scale. You'll own the web platform: the architecture, the conventions, the component patterns, the performance budget. The engineers who come after you will build inside the foundation you set, so we're looking for someone who has done this before.

## What they're looking for

- Five or more years building consumer web products, with React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, & Javascript expertise
- A real track record of 0 to 1. You've built something significant from an empty repository and watched it survive contact with users and with other engineers
- Genuine command of web fundamentals. You understand the browser: the DOM, the event loop, rendering and layout, CSS at a level beyond utility classes. Framework knowledge on top of a shaky foundation isn't what we need
- Ownership of consequential work, not adjacent work. Tell us about the system you designed and shipped, not the test coverage you raised
- Craft. You take pride in how something is built and how it feels to use, and you can hold both at once
- Direction setting. You articulate a technical approach, defend it, and change your mind when someone makes a better argument. Senior here means people follow your lead because the reasoning is sound
