## About the role

Design, build, and maintain critical integrations between UpDoc and health systems, EHRs, healthcare technology platforms, and other external systems and services. Own integration projects end to end, from technical discovery and architecture through development, testing, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance.

## What they're looking for

- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant experience in backend development, systems integration, or API engineering
- Strong professional experience with modern, type-hinted Python
- Demonstrated experience designing, building, and supporting production integrations with third-party systems and APIs
- Experience developing production APIs and backend services using FastAPI, Pydantic, or comparable technologies
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, authentication and authorization, webhooks, networking, databases, and distributed systems
- Experience working with external APIs where you do not control the upstream or downstream system and must account for their technical constraints and failure modes
