## About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Developer Advocate to help more developers discover Viam and start building with the platform. The Developer Advocacy team reports to our SVP of Product & Education. You’ll be responsible for growing Viam’s developer community and driving activation on the platform. Your work will include building creative software and hardware projects, turning them into content and experiences developers want to try themselves, and representing Viam across developer communities, events, and online.

## What they're looking for

- Experience as a software engineer building, shipping, and maintaining production software used by real users. Experience with Python, Go, C++, or TypeScript is especially relevant
- Strong technical judgment and the ability to independently scope, build, debug, and iterate on software projects with limited direction
- A track record of creating high-quality technical content for developers, such as tutorials, videos, sample projects, workshops, or talks
- Hands-on experience with hardware, IoT, embedded systems, electronics, maker projects, or similar physical systems. Professional robotics experience is not required
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly without losing technical depth
- A strong understanding of how developers discover, evaluate, and adopt new technologies
