## About the role

Hardware Engineering is an innovative and collaborative group of electrical, mechanical, reliability, software and vehicle engineers. We design, build, and perfect the products which are the eyes and ears of Waymo's autonomous driving technology, and integrate those products into vehicle platforms. We're seeking curious and talented teammates to keep us moving in the right direction. This role follows a hybrid work schedule and reports to Systems Integration Manager.

## What they're looking for

- BS/MS in EE, ME, CE, CSE, or related technical field, or equivalent practical engineering experience with 8+ years of industry experience
- Proven track record of designing, deploying, and supporting complex, production-grade hardware and software systems in high-velocity tech environments
- Broad and deep multidisciplinary expertise across electrical, mechanical, and software domains with demonstrated ability to quickly master emerging technical domains
- Extensive hands-on experience architecting bring-up procedures, assembling prototypes, and debugging complex distributed electromechanical and compute systems
- Demonstrated technical leadership with strong cross-functional communication skills, bridging technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive consensus and unblock critical technical blockers
- Proficiency in an object-oriented programming language applied to system tooling, diagnostics, or automation
