About the role
The Buyer is a key member of Aalo Atomics' Supply Chain team, responsible for managing procurement of components, equipment and services critical to our reactor development program. You will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, and Program Management to convert purchasing requests into purchase orders (POs), and be the main point of contact with suppliers for all purchase order related issues.
What they're looking for
- 5+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or hardware-development environment
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, or other technical teams to understand requirements
- Proven track record of managing open orders, resolving issues, and communicating with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar), ability to maintain accurate planning data and generate useful reporting
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple open orders and competing priorities simultaneously
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills, able to represent the company effectively in supplier-facing interactions

This role requires someone who is highly organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities, and skilled at building strong relationships both internally and externally.
- Own the full purchase order lifecycle — from purchase request through PO receipt.
- Issue purchase requests, analyze quotes, negotiate terms, convert POs, send to suppliers.
- Coordinate logistics with Aalo logistics partners and suppliers
- Ensure shipments come with necessary paperwork for a frictionless receipt process.
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for a portfolio of suppliers — managing open orders on a daily/weekly basis, resolving discrepancies, and driving continuous improvement.
