About the role

We are seeking an experienced Director, Scientific Communications to lead publication and scientific data dissemination strategy across Alto’s pipeline. This role will partner closely with Clinical Development, Biostatistics, Medical Affairs, and other cross-functional teams to translate clinical data into rigorous, consistent scientific communications for healthcare professionals, KOLs, payers, and the broader scientific community.

What they're looking for

  • 8+ years of scientific or medical communications experience within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, including direct ownership of publication plans
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing abstracts, manuscripts, congress presentations, and other scientific communications
  • Strong ability to interpret and communicate complex clinical and scientific data to multiple audiences
  • Experience managing medical communications agencies, publication timelines, and budgets
  • Experience working within medical, legal, and regulatory review processes
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration, project management, and communication skills

Primary Role

We are seeking an experienced Director, Scientific Communications to lead publication and scientific data dissemination strategy across Alto’s pipeline. This role will partner closely with Clinical Development, Biostatistics, Medical Affairs, and other cross-functional teams to translate clinical data into rigorous, consistent scientific communications for healthcare professionals, KOLs, payers, and the broader scientific community.

What you'll do

Publication & Scientific Communications Strategy

  • Own the publication plan across Alto's pipeline (abstracts, manuscripts, congress presentations) from data readout through peer-reviewed publication
  • Develop and maintain the scientific narrative platform to ensure consistent, evidence-based external scientific communications across differentiated pipeline programs.
  • Drive publication planning, sequencing, and execution in alignment with program milestones and broader corporate and Medical Affairs objectives.

Cross-Functional Partnership
