Make something people want. Backed by AI Grant.

About the role

Y Combinator is looking for an Editorial Researcher to join the YC Media team. We make content for people who are curious about startups, technology, AI, science, and the future. That includes videos and podcasts, essays, original research, and new projects built around the enormous amount of knowledge and data that exists inside YC. We're looking for someone who is unusually curious, technically inclined, and a very good writer. Found on 1752vc Careers, the job board for startup and VC roles.

What they're looking for

  • You're deeply curious about technology and understand the culture around startups, AI, engineering, and the internet
  • You're an excellent writer and editor. You can make complicated things simple without making them simplistic
  • You're technical enough to talk to engineers and researchers and understand what they're actually saying
  • You like going down rabbit holes, reading papers, digging through datasets, talking to experts, and figuring things out for yourself
  • You have strong editorial judgment. You can recognize when something is genuinely interesting rather than merely popular
  • You're comfortable working across formats. An idea might become a Substack post, a YouTube video, a podcast conversation, a chart, or something we haven't tried yet
