About the role
Bluefish is looking for an experienced Controller to lead and own the full accounting lifecycle for our growing organization. This role requires deep operational expertise, a strategic mindset, and a hands-on approach to building scalable financial systems. You’ll oversee everything from client billing setup and revenue recognition to monthly close, financial reporting, and bank reconciliations—playing a critical role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting functions.
What they're looking for
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 3+ years in a managerial or senior-level role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and financial reporting
- Experience in SaaS or subscription-based businesses highly preferred
- Proven ability to build and scale accounting operations in a fast-growing company
- Familiarity with ERP systems and billing platforms.(e.g., Rillet, QuickBooks, Stripe, Ramp, Aleph, or similar)
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

- Own and manage the end-to-end accounting function—from client billing setup and invoicing to revenue recognition and monthly close.
