About the role
As the Head of Finance, you will build and lead Braintrust’s finance function from the ground up. You’ll sit at the center of our most critical decisions, owning planning, stress-testing bets, and partnering directly with our leadership team to allocate capital against our biggest opportunities.
What they're looking for
- Experience: 8-12+ years of progressive finance experience in Strategic Finance, FP&A, Corporate Finance, or Investment Banking, ideally within a high-growth B2B SaaS or AI technology company
- Leadership: Proven track record of building or leading a finance function, with the ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in an early-stage or scaling environment
- Analytical Rigor: Deep expertise in financial modeling, long-range planning, and capital allocation. You can build from scratch, stress-test assumptions, and translate complex data into clear strategic insight
- Business Acumen: A strategic and business-minded perspective, capable of balancing financial rigor with bold, long-term thinking. Familiarity with ARR-based business metrics and subscription economics
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex financial topics into clear, compelling narratives for executives, the Board, and investors
- Execution: High ownership mentality. You take initiative, drive projects to completion, and hold yourself to a high bar. You can take ambiguous business needs and turn them into structured, executable plans
