About the role
You'll be joining our Carta Law team, specifically within the Emerging Company Venture Capital (ECVC) function.
What they're looking for
- Experienced in ECVC law. You have a strong background in early-stage financings — SAFEs, convertible notes, and priced equity rounds — and can independently manage complex, fast-moving deal processes
- Client-focused and commercially minded. You build strong relationships with founders, venture capital funds, and their counsel, and know how to communicate clearly under pressure
- A natural leader and mentor. You have experience supervising paralegals, and can manage team output across multiple simultaneous deals
- Detail-driven and execution-focused. You thrive on getting deals done – you prioritize effectively, handle competing deadlines, and do not lose momentum
- Licensed to practice. You are qualified to practice in California or a comparable jurisdiction. 7+ years of relevant experience recommended
