About the role
Cascade AI builds AI agents that automate real HR work at scale — from onboarding and open enrollment to leave of absence, compensation, and employee support. Our agents don’t just answer questions; they execute workflows, integrate deeply with enterprise systems, and deliver instant, conversational help to employees around the world.
What they're looking for
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including time leading or managing engineers
- Strong proficiency in Python (required)
- Strong cloud experience (required) — we’re not opinionated about which cloud you know best, as long as your depth is real
- Strong system design experience (required), with a clear track record of designing robust systems deployed to production
- A track record of owning large, multi-sprint initiatives end-to-end and shipping them
- Strong product intuition — able to turn ambiguous requirements into concrete, elegant technical plans

This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll manage and grow a team of engineers, own the architecture and quality of the interfaces employees use to interact with Cascade’s AI agents, and partner closely with product and design to ship reliable, high-performance experiences. You’ll report directly to the CTO and own day-to-day delivery and team health for this surface.
