About the role
You will hear no from me, and I expect to hear it back, with the data. Citizen is being rebuilt as an AI-native company, led by a founder who builds with agents himself. Engineering, operations, and finance already run with agents working alongside humans, and the product is about to be reinvented on top of the base and the distribution the first eight years earned. Product is next, and you will define it.
What they're looking for
- You have led product for a consumer product that millions of people use, with a real subscription business, and you personally owned pricing, conversion, or retention and moved the number. You can show the work
- You think in whole systems. You have taken a product that had sprawled and made it coherent: fewer concepts, clearer paths, faster shipping afterward. You can explain what you cut and why
- You have shipped to enterprise or B2B customers enough to know that the product is what ships, not what is promised in the deal and you have sat across from the customer when it did not
- You build with AI already. You have replaced whole parts of your own workflow with agents, you have opinions about what the tools can and cannot do, and you are paying attention to what is next. This is not a nice-to-have. It is the job
- You are quantitative. You build the model yourself, you configure the experiment yourself, you read the result yourself, and you know when a result is lying to you
- You have made something that did not exist before, and you would rather do that again than run a roadmap of someone else's ideas

I have built product at Citizen since the first line of code, and I am still in it every day. Now I build with agents, and so does the rest of the company. Engineering, operations, and finance already run this way. The gap between an idea and a working build on my phone is measured in hours, and it is changing how fast we move more than anything in our history.
We are at an inflection point. We are about to reinvent the product, not redesign it. Eight years of shipping have left us with a product that does a great deal and hangs together less well than it should, and the right person, thinking in whole systems and with agents doing the production work, can make it coherent and sharp in months rather than years. At the same time the enterprise business is working and needs to scale, and the product that made Citizen the #1 safety app in America is going to every country in the world. One person is going to hold all of that in their head and move it. I want to build that next phase with them, next to me, every day.
