This senior individual-contributor role will establish and lead Coherent’s enterprise-wide approach to government-contract compliance, governance, and risk management.

Job Summary: Coherent is seeking a Director, Government Contracts Counsel (U.S.) to serve as the company’s principal legal subject-matter expert for U.S. federal government and defense contracting. This senior individual-contributor role will establish and lead Coherent’s enterprise-wide approach to government-contract compliance, governance, and risk management.

The Director will advise executive leadership and business teams on FAR, DFARS, CMMC, and related federal contracting requirements. Working across Legal, engineering, IT, cybersecurity, supply chain, finance, and program management, this individual will translate complex requirements into practical business guidance and scalable processes that support Coherent’s growth in the defense and federal markets.

This position will operate with significant autonomy and serve as the company’s primary legal authority for U.S. government-contracting matters.
