About the role
Ever been the person everyone Slacks who either has the answer, or knows how to track it down? That’s this job. As a Senior Security Solutions Engineer, you’re the technical brain trust behind Expel’s Customer Success team — the “the buck stops here” expert who makes sure our CSMs, TAMs, and support engineers always have a fast, accurate answer to bring to customers.
What they're looking for
- Sharp root-cause analysis and troubleshooting — you diagnose complex technical issues completely and accurately
- A firm grasp of the cybersecurity market: the products, the providers, and their real strengths and weaknesses
- Fluency in security controls across Windows, Unix/Linux, AWS, GSuite, O365, and network gear
- A solid handle on attack vectors, threat tactics, attacker techniques (think ATT&CK), and the attack lifecycle
- Strong consultative instincts — active listening, conflict management, negotiation, and knowing when (and how gracefully) to escalate
- An intrinsic drive to self-assess and keep getting better
