About the role
As a Staff Software Engineer at Farther, you'll be a technical leader who shapes how we build software. You'll drive architecture decisions, tackle our most complex challenges, and guide other engineers while remaining deeply hands-on. We're building an elite engineering team. We look for three things: deep technical expertise in your craft, high horsepower to rapidly context-switch across complex problems, and a track record of winning in multiple areas of your life.

- Lead the design and implementation of large-scale systems spanning frontend and backend
- Establish engineering standards and best practices that scale across the organization
- Champion adoption of AI tools across engineering teams – demonstrate how to leverage AI to multiply effectiveness and accelerate delivery
- Tackle complex technical challenges in system design, scalability, reliability, and performance
- Operate with significant autonomy – own major technical decisions and be accountable for architectural outcomes
