About the role
The Senior Counsel, Corporate will be a senior member of Generate Capital's legal team and a trusted partner to leaders across the business. This role will own a broad portfolio of corporate matters, including corporate governance, board and stockholder matters, strategic transactions, and corporate financing.
What they're looking for
- JD from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar, 8+ years of relevant legal experience
- Strong corporate transactional experience developed through a leading law firm and/or an in-house legal team, prior in-house experience is preferred but not required
- Demonstrated experience leading or supporting M&A, strategic investments, joint ventures, and corporate financing transactions, experience with power or digital infrastructure transactions is a plus
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and drive matters to resolution
- Commercially minded and solutions-oriented, with the judgment to distinguish material risks from manageable ones and communicate advice clearly
- Comfort operating with significant autonomy while knowing when to escalate, seek input, or bring in specialized expertise

The Senior Counsel, Corporate will be a senior member of Generate Capital's legal team and a trusted partner to leaders across the business. This role will own a broad portfolio of corporate matters, including corporate governance, board and stockholder matters, strategic transactions, and corporate financing. The ideal candidate combines strong technical training with commercial judgment, can move comfortably between strategic advice and hands-on execution, and is energized by working in a fast-moving environment where priorities evolve and answers are not always obvious. This person should be prepared to lead matters independently, collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and outside counsel, and build practical processes that help the organization operate with greater speed, rigor, and consistency.
