About the role
The Senior Avionics Engineer will work with a small team of electrical and embedded software engineers on the design, development, testing, and evaluation of future spacecraft, small satellites, reentry capsules, and hypersonic flight systems, with specific emphasis on printed circuit boards, power systems, telemetry, and instrumentation. The position will span a broad range of product life cycle stages from concept development to flight test of prototype hardware. The Senior Avionics Engineer tasks will include:
What they're looking for
- Conceptual design of avionics subsystems for advanced concept spacecraft and aircraft, including power system sizing, component selection, and design trade studies
- Designing and analyzing analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits for power, command and control, communication, and propulsion subsystems
- Integrating and validating custom and commercial off-the-shelf avionics for ground and flight-test applications
- Supporting development of avionics mission and safety requirements as well as improving avionics development processes
