About the role

Google is more than a software company, its massive digital ecosystem relies heavily on physical architecture built and sustained by the Technical Infrastructure team. As a Server Operations Manager, you will lead a dedicated team of Data Center Technicians tasked with monitoring, maintaining, and deploying the infrastructure that powers Google's search technology and global product portfolio.

  • 5 years of experience working in data center environments, including building and operating infrastructure, and network and compute architecture and life-cycle, and Linux/Unix system administration
  • Ability to work non-standard hours, including working weekends, night shifts (this role is third shift/night shift), holidays and on shift-based schedules as required
More about this role
  • Manage round-the-clock operations across all shifts (days, nights, weekends) within the metro area.
  • Oversee hiring, coaching, talent development, and vendor management for technical teams.
  • Lead the deployment, maintenance, and support of systems and network architectures.
  • Leverage Linux/Unix, network protocol, and hardware life-cycle expertise to resolve complex strategic challenges.
  • Execute global strategic projects aligned with company goals while driving strict Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) compliance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.

5 years of experience managing technical teams, vendor or agreement management and service delivery.

  • 5 years of experience working in data center environments, including building and operating infrastructure, and network and compute architecture and life-cycle, and Linux/Unix system administration.
