About the role

Like Google's own ambitions, the work of a Software Engineer goes beyond just Search. Software Engineering Managers have not only the technical expertise to take on and provide technical leadership to major projects, but also manage a team of Engineers. You not only optimize your own code but make sure Engineers are able to optimize theirs. As a Software Engineering Manager you manage your project goals, contribute to product strategy and help develop your team.

  • 8 years of experience programming in Java for software development, including AI/ML applications
  • Experience designing software architecture for applications, including AI/ML systems
  • Experience in software development and with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience in a people management or team leadership role
  • Experience managing and developing managers
More about this role
  • Drive and take ownership of technical strategy and roadmap.
  • Lead high-impact engineering projects across age verification, end-to-end user journeys, and native user interfaces by providing architectural guidance and setting technical direction.
  • Manage, mentor, and grow the engineering team in Kirkland, working closely with established TLs to foster career advancement, skill development, and technical excellence.
  • Partner seamlessly with Product Management (PM), User Experience (UX), Program Management (PgM), leadership, and the engineering team in Germany.
  • Collaborate effectively across Google product areas who are driving the age space.
