About the role
As the Engineering Manager for the team, you will lead a team of software and machine learning engineers in their development of Google's foundational Semantic Location engine. You will coach, mentor, and grow the engineers on the team, aligning their work with their individual career goals, helping them solve high-impact technical problems, and maintaining a high level of motivation and job satisfaction. - Collaborate with client teams and other partners on joint goals and requirements, integrate those into our roadmap, and clearly communicate our progress.
- Provide technical guidance and leverage your experience and intuition to ensure our model and systems are high-quality, resource-efficient, reliable, and maintainable.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
- 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
- PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, or related fields.
- Experience in successfully applying GenAI and machine learning approaches to real-world problems.
- Strong mathematical skills with knowledge of statistical methods.
