About the role

As the Lead Technical Accountant – Revenue & Deal Advisory, you will serve as a strategic subject-matter expert guiding the business through cutting-edge commercial arrangements, product launches, and complex deal structuring.

What they're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) license
  • 7 years of accounting experience within Big 4 public accounting, national advisory firms, or a corporate technical accounting environment (or 5 years with an advanced degree)
  • Experience with technical accounting memos and policy documents
  • Experience in US GAAP, ASC 606, and revenue recognition principles
More about this role
  • Engage early with controllers and cross-functional stakeholders as commercial deals and new product offerings take shape, delivering technical accounting analysis on key topics, including customer contracts under revenue standard.
  • Conduct in-depth US GAAP research (revenue, Inventory and other areas) and acts as a key business partner on all complex accounting questions.
  • Assess technical accounting implications for strategic initiatives across various Google product lines.
  • Train non-finance partners, leadership, and product teams on commercial guardrails and core revenue accounting principles.
  • Lead technical discussions with external auditors and the product area controllers on key contract evaluations and SEC disclosures.
