About the role
As State Political Strategy Manager, you will be a leader in the Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) organization. You will be responsible for driving modern state-level public affairs and advocacy initiatives that build trust with policymakers, regulators, and opinion leaders and shape critical tech policy debates. You will translate complex policy goals into policy campaigns that bridge the gap between high-level strategy and on-the-ground execution.

- Develop structured engagement plans to build long-term trust with policymakers, regulators, and opinion leaders.
- Drive programming and narratives that lead to meaningful engagement of policy audiences on matters affecting Google’s business and users. Create the engagement strategies, vehicles, messaging, and materials that help scale Google's core reputation and policy narratives.
- Partner with local teams to build, maintain, and activate allies to support responsible innovation via earned media, direct engagement, paid media, and other tactics.
- Coordinate closely with consultants, GAPP, communications, marketing, and product/business units.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience managing public affairs, corporate affairs, political, or issue advocacy campaigns at the state or national level.
