GrayMatter Robotics is a company that solves the most difficult surface treatment and finishing challenges faced by high-mix, high-variability manufacturers. Backed by NGP Capital.
About the role
Develop and implement algorithms, systems, and architecture for high-DOF robotic systems working in manufacturing environments. Ability to configure, troubleshoot, and develop low-latency robust interfaces for high-bandwidth, high-throughput sensor data.
What they're looking for
- Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science or similar engineering discipline
- 2+ years of demonstrated industry experience in developing, implementing, and testing algorithms for planning/learning/perception/control
- Experienced in developing complex function-based software that interacts with sensor inputs, control loops, and redundancy
- Proficiency in C++ and Python production-level coding
- Strong experience implementing and optimizing 3D geometry algorithms such as point cloud filtering, registration (ICP, feature-based), and segmentation
- Ability to fuse multi-view 2D and 3D sensor data (e.g., RGB + depth, multiple point clouds) into a single aligned point cloud or mesh
More about this role
GrayMatter Robotics is a well-capitalized Physical AI company headquartered in Los Angeles, building Factory SuperIntelligence (FSI) through systems that learn, adapt, and develop genuine process intelligence across every part they touch. Our robots take on the tedious, hazardous, and ergonomically demanding work that has kept manufacturing dependent on a shrinking skilled workforce, delivering superhuman performance. Robotics has a demo problem. GMR doesn't. Our systems are in active production today, adapting autonomously to real geometries, real materials, and real process variation without reprogramming. We deliver our system through a Robots-as-a-Service (RaaS) model that converts capital expenditure into an operating subscription, making Physical AI accessible to the manufacturers who need it most. We hire people who want to solve hard physical problems at an industrial scale.
As a Senior Robotics Engineer: Perception , you will join our development team onsite in our Carson, CA office to support internal teams and develop algorithms and architecture for production software by working with physical robots, sensors, and tools. The role will focus on the fundamentals of...
