About the role
The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, developing, and validating electrical wiring harnesses and distribution systems for our advanced vehicle platforms. Working closely with electrical and mechanical engineers as well as prototype technicians, you will support the 3D routing, 2D documentation, and component selection for our low-voltage vehicle networks. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your designs will quickly transition from the CAD environment to physical vehicle prototypes.
What they're looking for
- Duration: 8 weeks for quarter or 15 weeks for semester (January 11 to April 30 OR January 11 to March 12)
- Relocation Support: A $1,000 relocation stipend is available for interns currently residing more than 50 miles from Garden Grove, CA
- Design and develop vehicle electrical wiring harnesses, distribution systems and select connectors, subcomponents to meet system requirements and industry standards
- Create detailed 2D and 3D EDS designs using tools like CATIA, Siemens NX, or equivalent software
- Develop and maintain wiring schematics, routing layouts, and BOMs (Bill of Materials)
- Ensure compliance with electrical standards (e.g., ISO, SAE) and safety regulations
