About Layup Parts

Layup manufactures composite parts and the tooling required to make those parts, as well as developing technologies that will allow us to get parts to our clients faster than ever before. Layup ships parts far faster than our competitors can provide a quote. Backed by Space Capital.

About the role

At Layup Parts, we're developing the technology that will build the future. We're looking for a Computational Geometry Software Lead to lead the team building the software tools that turn complex manufacturing engineering problems into scalable, automated workflows.

What they're looking for

  • Professional experience in software engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field, with a strong understanding of how physical parts move from design into production
  • Strong software programming fundamentals to effectively lead a software engineering team
  • Experience leading engineers, technical projects, and/or cross-functional engineering initiatives
  • Experience with computational geometry, CAD/CAM systems, geometric modeling, or software involving 3D part geometry
  • Ability to translate ambiguous manufacturing problems into clear technical requirements and software solutions
  • Ability to work effectively across software, manufacturing, mechanical engineering, and operations teams
More about this role

At Layup Parts, we're developing the technology that will build the future.

We're a manufacturing technology company replacing months of lead time with days, using proprietary software, automation, and advanced manufacturing systems built for speed. Our customers are inventing what's next, in aerospace, defense, robotics, and beyond. To keep up with them, manufacturing has to change. That's what we're building.

We're looking for a Computational Geometry Software Lead to lead the team building the software tools that turn complex manufacturing engineering problems into scalable, automated workflows.

This role sits at the intersection of software, manufacturing, and mechanical engineering. You'll work closely with our manufacturing engineers to understand how composite parts and tooling are designed and built, then lead a team of software engineers developing the tools that make those processes faster, more reliable, and more automated.

The ideal person for this role comes from a manufacturing or mechanical engineering background and has strong programming experience, including experience working with computational geometry, CAD/CAM, or geometric modeling. You don't need to be the...
