About Madrone

Cool your data center with 20°C water while using 30% less water and electricity than a chiller. Forget the wet bulb, cool to the dew point. Backed by Y Combinator.

About the role

We are hiring Engineering Technicians to turn designs into working hardware. You will build and test prototypes, assemble sensors and wire harnesses, set up our warehouse and test space, receive large equipment at the heart of our product. Found on 1752vc Careers, the job board for startup and VC roles.

What they're looking for

  • Experience building, installing, maintaining, or testing physical equipment. Trade, manufacturing, lab, field-service, and equivalent hands-on experience all count
  • Comfort using hand tools, power tools, and measurement equipment, including a multimeter
  • Practical plumbing or fluid-system experience, including fittings, valves, pumps, and leak testing
  • Experience with wiring, connectors, sensors, or electrical assembly, or an interest in developing those skills
  • The ability to read mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and written procedures, and to document work clearly
  • Sound judgment when moving heavy equipment and working around pressurized water, electricity, and operating machinery
More about this role

Madrone is building the thermal infrastructure required for artificial intelligence to tackle humanity’s most complex challenges - from curing cancer to achieving room-temperature superconductivity.

Power is the primary constraint on data center growth, and currently up to 40% of power is lost to cooling at current GW-scale sites.

Madrone’s first product is a modular, hyper-efficient facility water cooling system for hyperscale data centers. It allows cooling to the dew point, lower than anyone else can without using mechanical chillers.

We’re assembling an exceptional team to push the frontier of heat rejection on Earth.

We are hiring Engineering Technicians to turn designs into working hardware. You will build and test prototypes, assemble sensors and wire harnesses, set up our warehouse and test space, receive large equipment at the heart of our product.

This is a physical, hands-on role. On a given day, you might assemble a piping loop, move a heat exchanger into place, terminate a sensor cable, check electrical connections, troubleshoot a leak, or help run a system test. You will work closely with our engineers and founders, and what you observe during builds and tests will...
