About the role
We’re looking for an engineer who wants real ownership early: someone independent, curious, and pragmatic, with strong systems instincts and good judgment. You’ll work across reliability, security, automation, cost, developer experience, and internal platforms. A growing part of the role is building the systems underneath how AI is changing work at Middesk: the infrastructure that lets people and agents collaborate safely, ship faster, and operate with more leverage.
What they're looking for
- 3+ years of experience as a software engineer, with genuine interest in infrastructure, platform, or systems work – you don't need to have done this exact job before, but you need to want it
- Strong technical fundamentals: a deep, careful understanding of how systems actually work. This is work you can't vibe-code your way through
- A fast learner who is reliable, humble, and excited to absorb everything from experienced teammates
- Comfort with (or excitement about) work that isn't customer-facing – the impact here is deep, not loud
